iPhones and iPads in Saudi

Post new topic

TC999

I am very naive and am shortly travelling to Riyadh to meet a potential employer.  I have read somewhere that laptops and so on are checked for images when entering Saudi.

I have an iPhone with music videos.  Will this be acceptable or do I need to remove the videos and family photos first?

Just make sure there is no "objectionable" material on your comp and phone.

I have been in and out several times and have never had my laptop checked. However my colleagues have had there laptops checked. (If it happens they wont check there and then, they will ask you to come back tomorrow to claim the laptop and hard drive - this is what happened to one of my colleagues)

Therefore sensible to keep a backup of your files upload them on the net and download once here.

The fact that people at the airport dont speak English (the odd one may speak broken English) doesnt help in communication with airport officers.

Good luck! and an early welcome to the Magic Kingdom

Hi,
our apple laptops never been checked either.

RedGoblin

Its not compulsory that they will check.. usually if u are travelling with family, they wont bother. young, single guys are "targeted" for the more scrutiny..

ellia

Yes true as everywhere checking single men more then family people.

Our laptops and iphones have never been checked, but just in case back everything up to an external hard drive and pack that seperately. That way you can restore files if they are deleted.
