Sending text messages from Digicel to UK mobile

Hi

I have a phone on the Digicel network, if I send a text message to an Australian number it gets through fine, however if I send one to a UK number it never appears. I can receive messages fine if I send from my UK mobile to my Digicel one, but not the other way around. Anyone any idea? I can see nothing on the Digicel site to say this is a problem. My UK network is O2.

Hi Mike.

I have had the same problem when texting O2UK from central america, using a few different networks.

The one that was most helpful was digicel. I called customer care and reported the date, time and number i was sending the text to and they investigated. It took some time, because I think O2 had to get involved to fix it. But now my msgs are getting thru ok.

I also had a problem calling O2 numbers (from fixed lines and mobiles). It would show up on the O2 phone as a 6 digit number and then the call quality was terrible and Id get cut off quite quickly. Did you ever experience that?

Thanks for the reply. I haven't actually tried to use my phone to call home so not sure if that is also a problem. I do know that it's not just my digicel phone with the problem, as I got somebody else to text me and didn't work. I may well try contacting digicel then!
