Renting car vs public transportation?

Hello,
going to a short trip to Moscow. is it better to explore Moscow by a rental car so I can more fast moving or it is better to use public transportation?
could be compared by below points:
* faster
* safer
* fun to use
* price

On all points, take the metro or bus.

Thanks. I did realize that as it always corwded inside Moscow. I plan to rent a car anyway to go on road trip through the 7 villages of golden ring it is cheaper and faster than tours to golden ring villages more flexible timing than trains and more freedom to visit things in between villages.
When I came back to Moscow I'll return it and use transportation.
