Hi everyone. I got an offer from Manama with 1200$ salary, covering accommodation, medical insurance only for myself. Wanted to know if this money is enough for good living there with 9 year kid.I also have no idea about schooling. Would appreciate your friendly advice. Thanks.

Hi
You don't say if it's US dollars or Bahraini dinars so not possible to tell you. Is it salary plus accommodation/medical or is that included in your salary? Will they include annual flights home?

Hello and welcome! :)

If you give us some further information on what the job is etc we can help more.

From what you have said $1200 is roughly 450BD and if your accommodation and health care is taken care of that is large chunk of your expenditures taken care of if this is a first offer it is always worth asking for more but depends what you ill be doing.
For you and your child food shopping will be something around 60BD (depending what you eat) per month.
I've been told schools are NOT cheap but I don't know the actual cost of them or which you would be looking to send your child to.

Hope this helps, if you have any other info just add it and will respond :)

All the best.

Need to see whether net savings are better than in home country. Though it is currently tax free here, costs of everything is high and rising. Only some high professionals and entrepreneurs are doing well.. Others are just carrying on, maintaining their stagnant lives.
