Looking for the name of a hotel in canadian expat area of the city and hopefully is not too far from the airport.Any other help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Darrell

I don't know what you are in town for but near the airport may not be a good choice if you are to have fun. Anyway, check out the backpackers' area near Pham Ngu Lao street, only 15 minutes taxi ride to the airport.

I don't know any Canadian specific hotel or area.

Checked in to New Pacific Hotel near the airport for the first night as I will be tired. Willcheck out backpackers area after a good rest. Thanks

As I remember, New pacific hotel is not near the airport. it is on Kydong str in dist 3. it takes about 15 mins from airport. pls correct me if i am wrong:)
i think it is better if you stay here in the first night than any hotel on Pham Ngu Lao str as nguyensea mentioned. it is not too noisy that you can sleep well:D

Dear Darrell,

How about your budget?
There are many hotels near the airport.
You can choose Park Royal hotel(4 stars)
or Moevenpick or Star City Saigon.
It's take about 5-7min or max 10 m,ins to airport from those hotels.
You should estimate the time accordingly to the traffic in Sai Gon.
Distance from these hotels to airport is about 2kms.
Hope you enjoy your stay in Ho Chi Minh.
