Recognition of foreign qualifications in Cape Verde

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello everyone,

Were your professional qualifications recognised in Cape Verde? What country did you complete your qualifications in? What profession are you in?

Did you have to go through any formalities to get your qualifications recognised, such as to have them translated?

If your qualifications weren't recognised, were there any additional tests or exams you had to complete before you were able to practice your profession in Cape Verde or continue with your studies?

Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Hi everyone,

You won't have any problems having your foreign qualifications recognized in CV. The reason is simple. Cape Verde is a small country. They don't have the resources to educate and train professionals here. Most professional who are in Cape Verde, including Cape Verdean professionals, were qualified outside of CV because they didn't have the option to qualify here.

It is only recently that Cape Verde's few universities have been able to add some professional education beyond a bachelors degree. However, the problem is that Cape Verde's universities do not even rank among the top 100 in Africa. In other words, if you have qualified in your profession in Cape Verde, your qualifications will likely NOT be recognized outside of Cape Verde.

So expats have nothing to worry about regarding foreign qualifications. On the contrary, it is what you will need to earn any kind of professional respect here.
