Yes. But it depends on what lifestyle you want to live. If you want to live an ex pat lifestyle, eating out at western style restaurants and haunting the bars, then no.

If you live a local lifestyle, saving money for the occasional treat, then yes. it wont leave you much in reserve so you may need to have a lump sum tucked away for emergencies.

$1500 is equil to about 30,000,000 vnd...but keep in mind everything here is priced in thousands and millions - even a simple meal will cost 20,000 - 25,000 vnd.

Honestly, you are asking a question that only you can really answer, it depends on how you want to live. Personally, I can live pretty comfortably on $1500 a month here but there are a lot of factors to consider...the place you chose to live in, the area you chose to live in, the places you eat, type of transportation (cars are expensive here), do you have family to support etc...

     I hope this helps.

For 1500 usd a month I could live really well. My wife and I live on about 800usd a month. That's everything except holidays and medical. I hear of people spending 1500 usd a month and they are single, they must be eating out every night and drinking in expat bars in D1. If you live away from D2,Phu My Hung, D3 etc, you can live for about 800-1000 usd a month, but we dont know your habits or lifestyle so its very hard to give an exact answer.

yes, if you live in d12, go vap district or some places far the center. And eating like vietnamese, it's about 25.000d - 50.000d for a meal. 1500$ is much more than me. I live with 300$ for a month.
