It's a small country. I would suggest renting a car and just drive. There are very inexpensive hotels and cabins everywhere you go. You should explore the coast and find what works best for "you."
Right along the coast can be very hot, although you may like that. You can go just a few kilometers inland and find cooler weather. Just explore and find your perfect spot.
