Job seeker visa - Chennai - Time taken for Approval ?

Hello everyone,
I had an appointment for job seeker visa (Germany) on August first week.
I submitted all the necessary docs and the visa officer returned my passport with a "small seal" which had date and application number in it. Then she said that i would be getting an email on the result in 2-3 days and returned my passport and DD receipt.
Its been more than 10 days and i am yet to receive any email/phone from the embassy.
I had booked hotels from September first week and waiting to book air tickets.
- Did anyone got job seeker visa approved recently from Chennai?
- And how much are the chances for my approval/refusal for my job seeker visa ?
- Should i reach out to consulate regarding this ?
Why would you even hesitate to contact them if there are still uncompleted steps?! Of course you should contact them. Nobody can explain what is going on better than them.
I called up the consulate and they replied that I am not suppose to ask them any such questions on the approval and doing so might delay the approval further.
So I was just checking if someone had similar experience of getting job seeker visa recently from Chennai consulate.

Sounds unusual. To ask about the status of something that is overdue only seems normal. But like you mention, maybe there is something particular to the Chennai consulate, which is something I have no knowledge of.
Hi,

I want to ask a question. Do you have any working experince? I am planning to apply job seeker visa but I have just finished my bachelor in June'17. I only have freelancer and internship experiences on my professional field. It is difficult to find sth about it on web. Any help will be so much appreciated.
Best,
Melike
Since any employer of a non-EU citizen must justify his decision by showing that there is no suitable skilled citizen (who must be preferentially hired, by law), you would face a big hurdle if you do not have any skills (most likely acqired through work experience) that are rare in Europe.
Thank you.
Actually I already found my job. But the office wants to do a trial. Thats why I cant apply for a working visa. Thats the problem
What can I do?
Yes. I have more than 10 yrs of IT experience as developer.
In any case , if you can show email proof that you have been called up for phone interviews from German companies that should help.
Or even email proof of conversation where any german employer replies you saying they prefer you to be present in Germany for face to face interviews.
All they want is - that you should prove/convince them that they are openings for your profile.
I have heard of ppl applying with few years of work experience , but no idea about freshers. But being a job seeker visa , I feel that all you need is some potential employer communication email proof that talks about the need of you being in German to get a job.
That email is more than enough. But in case you feel doubtful you can ask the employer to help getting you a business visa if possible. That's quick.
One of my friens got his job seeker approved in just two days when in a similar situation as yours - final round of interview.
Hey guys,
Quick questions:-
- Can you share the cover letter to my email ***
- I dont have the employer contact or potential openings that I have applied. I know there are lots of logistics openings and I will apply there
Highly appreciated. Interview is in 2 weeks, so please
Wishing you happiness,
Ashik

Thanks a lot!
I have one more question. I have studied "Interior Architecture ". My uni has H+ on anabin database. But all over the world, I haven't found any interior architecture department. It is only written "Architecture Diploma". I called embassy, they told me they never experienced it. And when I called anabin they told me I need to contact with embassy. What shall I do now?
Rahman22: Please do not post your personal contact details on the public forum, as it can be abused and is thus not allowed here. There is a PM function for members to excahnge private information.
And also please note that copying a cover letter from somebody else will not work, as you are expected to write one yourself and explain your own specific personal situation in it.

Hey guys,
Please respond to my question on the forum or here below;
-Can you share the cover letter of the JSV - to know the structure of it?
- I dont have any employer opportunity call or havent applied for any potential opening. I know there are many logistical openings in Germany and sure I can get in there. Shall I proceed like that or should establish some email communication with them?
Thanks for the swift reply
Interview is by 2 weeks

Interior Architecture is also commonly called Interior Design ("Innenarchitektur" in German).
Hope this helps.

Hi,
I am also facing same issue here in Chennai. I am checking for appointments but the slots are not there until January 2018. Another doubt arise in my mind is whether the slot may open at anytime based on requirement and we may book at that juncture. Please clarify the same.
I was planning to get appointment within this year. Fingers crossed. People with similar scenario, please share your experience.
Thanks,
Srihari
It is only two months until January! Certainly you don't make the decision to move to Germany on a short-term whim - such things need proper planning and preparation time.
Germans are usually planning months or even years in advance - you better learn that, too, otherwise you won't be happy in Germany!
Best is to call and email them regarding the slot issue. The embassy has its way which is confidential and might open up for interested or pursuing candidates.
Ps. My application result is due since applied on Sept 15th this year. Taking way more time
Hi,
Can you please let me know how you booked the appointment for job seeker visa.
I have been trying for last two months but unable to succeed.
Any help would be great.

Pradeep

Hey,
I just wanted to check with you on the visa process time?how much time did it take to apply and to get approval?whole process time ?am also planning to apply for job seeker visa,is chennai embassy is the best place or any other embassy to be preferred?
Hello,
You said the officer has returned your passport on the day of interview and you had received mail of the result.
Can you please tell after the result did you again go to the consulate and get your passport stamped or visit the consulate for any further documentation.
Thanks,
hkj
I've 9 years of it experience ,planning to apply Germany job seeker visa. Consultancy help required to apply or shall we do it our self ?
when i go thru Y- axis it had both positive and negative reviews. They asking 45K for processing. Can you please help us on this.
A German JSV can be applied with or without agency help - depends on how much work you are willing to do vs. how much money you want to spend.
But €45k is certainly too much!

Hi,
I got this "Your Visa application is decided" upon mail from consulate .
Any one has any idea.
What does this mean.
Thanks,
hkj
Expathkj2018 wrote:I got this "Your Visa application is decided" upon mail from consulate .
It means that your visa application is completed and a decision is reached. What else could it mean?

Dear Sir,
This is Asick Ahamed, i want to apply for jobseeker visa and I have 6+ years experience in web development
is it possible get job in Germany.
It is very well possible to find IT jobs in Germany. There is a shortage of skilled people in this area.
However, you need to be aware that most routine and programming jobs have been outsourced to cheaper locations like India, so you need to focus on niche skills where you can add value that cannot be easily transferred.
Also, without German language skills it would be very difficult, of course.
Hi, I am from Pakistan planning to apply for Job Seeker Visa. I need some help if you give me your email much appreciated. Thanks.

It is not clear whom you are addressing.
Better post specific questions - after reading the related threads on this forum and doing your own reserach elsewhere, too!
Is there any specific month for booking appointment. I am not able to get any slot while trying to book online. Kindly advice.
Hello,
