counterbalance forklift work in moscow wanted for 2012

stevemac67

hello to all, i am 43 years old counterbalance flt driver from yorkshire, england.
i have both paper and identity licences for counterbalance flt and a very good reference from the last 6 month contract i completed from tnt fireworks. they are a worldwide known brand and i dealt with many thousand pallets in the 6 months i was there and only "lost" one in the snow!.
i will be living there with a lady i have met and formed a relationship with, one we intend to cement in 2012.
i would appreciate any contact information for agencies or companies where i would be able to find work as flt driver?.
yours in hope,

Hi Steve,

I suggest you to post an advert under Moscow classifieds > jobs section. It might help you in your search.

Wish you good luck

Steve,

Have a look at expat.ru and redtape.ru, which are forums largely inhabited by expats. You can get some good advise there.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but to put it simply, you will not find a job as a forklift driver here in Moscow. The cost of obtaining your work permit and securing all the required permissions to employ you would cost any employer more than the annual salary of a local forklift driver.

Please do your research before making a rash decision to move to Russia. It is an unforgiving country of you do not have a good job and support system. It is incredibly bureaucratic, and frustrating. And those are  the positives.

Use google to identify the primary logistic providers in Russia, as many of them will have expatriate management and you may be able to wangle an interview. FM Logistics, DHL etcetera.

Manufacturing companies, such as TNT Fireworks, or any Russian company, can employ staff for 300 pounds a month, so will not fork out for a foreign employee that will cost 10 times that.

hi, thanks for the info. the woman i am coming to be with will teach at the university and if my wage is £300 a month i am sure that will be enough on top of her wage for us to be comfortable!?.
do you mean that tnt have an operation in russia?, in moscow area?.that would be very handy as it is with them i have just completed a contract in the uk.
thanks again, steve
