Anyone have experience living in Torremolinos?

It's not my first choice and would be a compromise with my partner, and I'm not really sold on the idea of living in another small tourist town way on the edge of Europe.
Are there upsides?
Thank you!

If you intend to learn Spanish, I'd recommend the centre of Málaga or one of the coastal towns to the east of it such as Pedregalejo or El Palo. One of the main advantages of Torremolinos and the other towns to the west of Málaga and that they are all on the Cercanías train line for access to the airport and the centre. That isn't the case to the east.
