Traffic in Bahrain

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello everyone,

Which city or area do you live in in Bahrain, and how do you find the traffic?

How long does it take to commute to work or run errands?

Is there a rush hour in your city? What times of the day would you recommend people to avoid driving if they can?

Are there any ways to avoid spending too much time in traffic in Bahrain?

What is parking availability and cost like?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Dear
Traffic is a big problem here because the average of more car compare population, always hard to find parking, and on-road driving in traffic is very slow, here fine also more compare another country .exp wrong parking fine  is minimum 27 USD, red light jump 250 USD, drunk and driving punish with 1250 USD and 6 months jail .and this is strict no escape plan will work...

Traffic in peak hours has increased but not as you find in other GCC like DUBAI or Abudhabi. I believe its much better if you compare with KL, ISTANBUL, and other cities where population is increasing day by day.

Need government long term plan. Government have to make  metro rail services and more public buses . Within 50 meters or 100 meters should not be more signal. Alternative way Govt. have to start ferry services or passengers boat services .

In short term ferry service is a good idea, and double the public bases than currently on road. In long term more bridges can be formed, but i believe rail service in such small country not viable for govt. as the payback period for this investment would be very long.

OMG  it's to bad to to drive or travel from here in Bahrain actually I'm new to here I was in Dubai for a long time.  There also the traffic is so hing but the difference is there is space and road to k9ve on if one road is traffic jammed you can choose another road to reach your destination but in Bahrain there is no more routes and the public transportation also so bad here. What I felt from here that there is no calm for all people living here I think expacts

I live outside of the city, so I usually try to avoid going into Manama whenever possible due to the traffic being so chaotic. There are a few road construction projects on my routes, but the biggest problems I see are peoples inability to drive and lack of traffic enforcement. Everyone wants to be the first to a red light, driving on the shoulder of the road to merge further ahead, making inappropriate left turns from through- lanes, etc. One would assume that there isn't a driving test or credentials needed to obtain a license in Bahrain.

Compared to worldwide capitals, & Saudi big cities , driving in Bahrain is the paradise & so peaceful if you live in middle location like Seef. We reach all destinations in 15-30 min max. Try to get that in Dubai or Paris, not talking about Moscow, Mexico City or Istanbul.
Of course, improvement has to be done on some connections highway like around Saar and mainly for pedestrans. WIthout car it is very complicate to move but Uber & Taxi are fully available and not so expensive.
