Left Hand Drive Car

Jiminypet

I have a left hand car that I would like to come with to Nairobi. I have heard that they are not allowed. Is this true? Will I have to sell my car then buy one in Nairobi? Please advise.

That's correct, you cannot import a left hand drive vehicle unless it's a specialist vehicle.  It also can't be over eight years old.

I imagine that you may be able to drive it across the border, but would have to take it out of the country within 6 months and would be unable to register it in Kenya (under the international agreement relating to this).

Thanks Longonot62. So back to the drawing board...
