Places to rent

As an expat who has been in thailand for most of my life, I would like to tell you guys that not all people on these boards are honest.

Firstly, a Thai graduate who works 6 days a week earns 220 baht a day. They pay taxes, cell phones, and clothes and food and transport and housing out of that money.

NO-WAY is 20,000 baht a month normal rent in Chiang Mai.

Chiang Mai Salaries are much lower than BKK, so is  the cost of living.

Upscale accommodations should cost you about 16,000.

32 sq meters as advertised here should run you about 4,000, not 20,000.

Some of these guys on this board are trying to milk you because you don't know.  So, don't trust anything I have seen on this board so far.

Also, Thai's are totally racist. If a Thai wants to befriend, you sight unseen on the internet, they want your money.  Agenda, agenda, agenda. They all have an agenda.  And when they whine and say it's not true, they have an agenda.

I love Thailand more than the USA.  But, don't be stupid when dealing with Thailand. NOBODY will ever help you for free. Help, to them, is something you pay for. If you help somebody, and they don't pay you, you didn't help them, u were just a mark or a fool.

Salary of thai graduate/ month : (with your figure)
220*30 = 6600 (less than minimum legal wage for graduate people : See website of thai ministry to verify)

Rent of 32 sq (not too much for people with children...they aren t animals) : 4000 bahts

Salary - rent = 2600 bahts

Rest for Food + transport + cell phone + cloths + tax + medicine + education + familly + gift + leisure + school for children + insurance + buy car ... = 86.66 bath / day  (2600/30 days)

It s good life to study 4 years in university and have 86.66 baht to have familly and take care yourself ?
Can you try just one month to live with only that ? (they are human like you)

I think you can see why thai people want more than what you think is good for them.

Thai's economy is controlled.

When Thai's economy is not controlled, it will be miserable.

And, people want to think other ways, which will only be to their own demise.

If you can make me stop crying, I will have time to work on other things.

If

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise ;

If you can dream and not make dreams your master,
If you can think and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same,
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken,
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
And stoop and build'em up with worn-out tools ;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings,
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings,
And never breathe a word about your loss,
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you,
Except the Will which says to them : "Hold on!",

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute,
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And, which is more, you'll be a man, my son.
