Border run... Phu Quoc to Cambodia

Post new topic

Hey all,

Has anyone made a border run to Cambodia from Phu Quoc Island via Ha Tien on Vietnam mainland?

I have made the run at Moc Bai/Bavet many times but recently moved to Phu Quoc and have found little info about immigration on either side.

In addition, it seems to me all the travel agents only mention the more popular crossings like Moc Bai or Lao bao. Are the Visa approval letters accepted at other less frequented crossings? Thanks for any advice you can give...

I don't know about visa approval letters. You may find out from the owner of Oasis bar in Ha Tien. It's on the riverfront road opposite the fountain.

If you are just going to the border, 6kms, and back or to Kep take a moto. The van services are terrible. I saw a door fall off one van. Lousy customer service. Plus all the vans  go at the same time so it takes longer to cross.

Entering Vietnam they have a health check scam. Costs a $ unless you have a vaccination card. I made one up and made a photocopy which they accepted.
It's not the $, it's to avoid the line.
