Need help to find informations about nannies / childminders in Malta

Hi,

We're looking for a nanny / childminder for our 10 months old girl in San Pawl / Buggiba starting September 2018.

In France it's very common to find "child assistants" (is it called "childminder" ? or "nanny" ?) who take care of 2 to 3 children during week days at their own place. It's usually a bit more expensive than nurseries but less than an au pair or "at home nanny".

As I'm not a native English speaker and not yet used to Maltese habits, I'm wondering if my research is correct (do I use the right words ?) and if I can expect to find such a person. It doesn't seem common in Malta...

Of course, if anyone can give me advice, feedback, recommend someone or share childcare time, feel free to contact me !

there are facebook groups - post there, get many replies from nannies in your area.

Worked well for us, we really love our Maltese nanny

Thanks for your feedback ! Yes, I saw these groups and am waiting for approval to post my request. But actually I was wondering whether or not I do use the right words, and if having someone doing this from its own place is usual in Malta. Couldn't find anyone at the moment but hopefully will by september 😊
Thanx anyway !

yeah your post is understandable, everyone here are used to broken english don't worry :)

I did find a few people saying they will look after kids at their locations - also kindergarden is free if you are employed - but ones I found all wanted to come to us which was what we wanted anyway

Thanks a lot for your feedback Volcane 😊  👌
