Driving from the uk to the netherlands

Post new topic

Englishmovers

now looking at driving over with all our luggage from the UK  to the Netherlands.

would it be worth it or not?

how much would it cost?

Cynic

Depends how much you have; when my daughter did it a few years ago, she took all her stuff with her on the aircraft, just booked the extra 4 suitcases as excess baggage.

Ferry options were:

Newcastle to Ijmuiden
Hull to Rotterdam
Harwich to Hook of Holland
Channel Tunnel

Rates depend on lots of things; when I looked at it for her, the longer and higher the vehicle was, the more it cost.  My advice is to assess how much you have to move, then use the internet to look at all of your options.  The other major issue we had was getting insurance to take a rental van abroad, I was really struggling, but I must admit that her decision to take it all in suitcases saved me looking very hard.
