Dealing with loneliness in Belgium

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello,

Expatriation can be a fun and exciting adventure, but it can also be a bit lonely at times. Please share with us some tips for dealing with loneliness.

What are some potential factors that lead to loneliness when moving to Belgium?

How do you deal with feelings of loneliness?

Is it easy to expand or create a social network in Belgium?

Are there any activities or events that encourage social meet ups and networking opportunities?

Thank you for sharing your experience,

Priscilla

One of the best ways to assimilate and to meet other expats is by taking language classes.

Dear Priscilla, this is such a nice topic. I am about to move to Belgium but this question comes to me every once in a while. Dealing with this particular feeling - I expect it to show up at one point once I am there.
As @Mark Jasper said, language classes are very nice idea.

I have a dog, so I will test the theory are the people who have dogs more likely to connect faster with community :-)
