Issues with CPR de-registeration if I am coming back in a month

Post new topic

Hi All,
My name is Rajesh and I am from India.
I am currently in Copenhangen, Denmark on a work assignment. I have 3 years of WP letter and the Visa sticker on my Passport is valid till October 2018. I have received my Residence Permit Card and CPR card as well.

I will be flying to India by this month end and returning by 28th July. I am vacating my flat too by June end. Since, I am vacating the flat my landlord has asked me to de-register my CPR and provide the proof, which is a valid ask.

I will again look for a flat once I am back on 28th July.

Query:
I am told that if I de-register my Denmark address from CPR then my Work Permit gets cancelled and I cannot enter Denmark without a fresh WP letter.
Does this rule still apply, if my D-Visa Sticker is valid till October 2018 and I have my Residence Permit card?
How do I handle this situation as I am returning to Denmark again in a month's time?

If any one knowledgeable around my query can advise me, it will be of great help!

Best regards,
Rajesh

Hi Rajesh,
You will be gone for only a month. Why do you want to vacate the flat just for one month?

With a valid residence permit, you can always go back to India and come back in a month. The residence permit is usually void if you stay out of Denmark for more than 180 days continuously. De-registration of CPR address should have no impact on your residence permit status. It is quite normal for people to travel for few months and de-register their CPR address during that period.

However, it is best to check such written or probably unwritten rules with proper public authorities - with SIRI as mentioned by Nellie.

Regards,
Jay

I am also stuck in same situation. Did you get any concrete answer from SIRI on this? Please let me know

Both SIRI and immigration service do not seem to know about this for sure.

It would be best if you considered posting a new one on the Denmark forum to ask your questions.
