Remuneration Package?

Post new topic

Hi Y'all

I have been asked by a Vietnamese Bank to to suggest my renumeration packing for  the position of Director of Learning and Development.  Any ideas what that should include, including wage,  would be greatly appreciated.

Package!  Not packing.  Sorry.

You might want to take a look at this book:    This is the 2017 edition but you can download the 2018 version at Adecco Vietnam:    You should see the tab for "Vietnam Salary Guide."

The 2017 book lists a Talent Development/Learning Development Manager at 45-80 million VND monthly.  I don't know if this is your job or not but if not you can look some more.  Perhaps with luck you could negotiate something like a housing allowance and a plane trip each year to your origin.

I gave private lessons to two people who worked in HR.  One was a training officer for large multinationals.  I won't name them, but they included whiskey, soft drinks and his last job, pharmaceuticals.  The other was head of HR for a large builder.  I always wanted to cut them a break on the price but my wife said don't because they made more than I did.   It looks like she was right.

It won't be happening all at once but the day when foreigners can claim a significant salary differential may be coming to a slow end.  I had another neighbor who was a left seat pilot for Vietnam Airlines.  He told me that all the airlines had a two tier salary schedule for local and foreign pilots and that the local pilots were not at all happy with that fact.

Thank you.  Brilliant answer!  Hope they didn't pay in whisky and pharmaceuticals!
