Family fun in Indonesia during school holidays

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello,

School holidays are fun for the kids, but parents often struggle to find ways to entertain them when they have just moved to a new country. Share with us some information about keeping the family busy during that time of the year.

What are some of the favourite activities in Indonesia that families can enjoy together?

What types of activities are more popular (indoors, outdoors) for toddlers, young children, and teenagers?

How do you balance work in Indonesia while the children are on holiday?

Are there any resources such as youth centres or expat children communities, that offer activities for children during the holidays?

How do you plan your holidays with the family in Indonesia?

Tell us about your best family adventure in in Indonesia? Is there a bucket list of must-do activities? What are they?

Thank you for sharing your experience,

Priscilla

Another excellent question Priscilla.

My own children have a very full life at school as well as private activities such as taekwondo, music lessons and art classes.

During the school holidays we usually leave Indonesia to visit more interesting countries both in the Asia Pacific region as well as in Europe, ones that will expand our minds in terms of culture and diversity. Both my wife and i believe that traveling overseas and an international school education is the best way for our children to develop and to learn a deep appreciation of life.

As for travel in Indonesia, yes we also frequently travel to distant islands and provinces throughout this country where we may or may not have relatives, and of course we always have a great time, enjoying everything around us and just chilling out.
