Interested in relocating

Post new topic

Hi everyone

I interested in relocating to Namibia, but find it very difficult
in meeting individuals who will be able to assist me in finding suitable employment.  I am willing to relocate at own expense and do not mind in which region or town I would have to work.

I would appreciate assistance of any kind in this regard.

Dev187, first I have to ask you, do you have Namibian Citizenship? If you do not, there is quite a lot of paperwork if you want to work in Namibia. They make it very difficult for citizens of foreign countries to work there, but you could apply for a work permit. If this legal stuff is not the problem, but finding the job are, I can understand your frustration. The best and most effective ways of looking for a job in Namibia is to buy the local newspapers, as this is about the only way recruiters advertise available positions in Namibia. You will probably have to ask someone in Namibia to buy this newspapers for you and mail them to you.
You will not find a lot of information on the internet. However, I would recommend that you post your CV to Namrecruit- they often have news about work in Namibia. You could also like them on facebook-then you will have first-hand info on new jobs in Namibia. Good luck.

Hello dear friend,
Namibia is a beautiful country to live in. However, one of our biggest challenges is unemployment which is currently at 51%. That is very high. However, Namibia also suffers from lack of trained and or professional personnel. So depending on what your speciality is it might not be difficult to find employment. The government's only concern, and rightly so, is that jobs that Namibians can do are not taken by foreigners.

The more technical your field the more likely you are to secure employment. ALso the University of Namibia (UNAM) and Polytechnic of Namibia might be places to look into. There is also a shortage of nurses and other medical personnel.

The government is also encouraging investors who can come and create jobs for the local populace.

I hope this answers your questions and sheds some light for you.
All the very best,

Zenani

Hi and welcome on board Dave!

You are off topic here! You should post an advert in the jobs section of Namibia classifieds!
