Temporary job for engineer

MissEngr

I am flying to Xiamen, China this February for a year of study of Chinese language. I am a licensed civil engineer in my country but has yet to have work experience. I am half Chinese but I have little to zero knowledge in Chinese language. I plan on looking for a temporary job while I stay in Xiamen, preferably a job connected to construction. I understand that although I am licensed, I have no license in China so anything which could give me an experience in my field of industry would do. My biggest problem is I don't know where to look, I tried online but to no avail. I hope someone could help me here.
I am 23 years old female, btw.

I hold X2 visa but I also have a Chinese resident ID.
Thank you in advance.

X2, and resident ID's will not permit you to work. You will need a Z-visa for that.

To get a Z-visa you will need to be sponsored by a Chinese company. They will have to prove that you are an expert and can do things that local Chinese cannot do. It will be up to you to convince them of this.

If you are half-Chinese, then I would advise you to leverage ALL of your family for assistance. They can open doors for you. China is not the USA. The family is much stronger than the individual. So, if you have the support of relatives here, you will be fine.

In the meantime, study your Chinese. Coming to China without any kind of decent language ability is going to hurt your chances.  Best regards...
