Hi everyone. We are afrikaans and english. Currently living in Cape Town ZA. My husband works in UAE. We started looking at Georgia Country mainly due to the new tax law coming into effect 1 march 2020 on foreign income earned in ZA. Also...me and the kids want tobe nearer to him. So we are looking at a place to emigrate to and where we can retire one day too. We are in our early 40's. We have stayed in Australia brieflysome years ago and my husband has worked in texas and canad before too. We mainly want help and info on emigrating to Georgia Country as south africans with plan to live there forever. Otherwise maybe only doing a financial emigration. But not to keen on that thou. Any advice and especially how other south africans find living there will be awesome.

Hi, I'm currently living in Batumi. I've been traveling and exploring a lot for the last couple of years and just wanted to stay in one place for a while.  It's been so good to wake up in the same bed every morning  I look forward to exploring Georgia and joining in on any events in the future.
great. when you decide to come to Tbilisi, inform.
Hello Good Afternoon,
Can you please Direct Msg me.
looking forward to your response.
Thanks!!
Have a good day!!
Thank you.  I'm Tom and I am interested in visiting Georgia this year and I am looking at possibilities of where to retire.  I have a keen interest in history and I greatly enjoy historical sites and I know the Caucasus Mountain nations have a long, interesting and sometimes tragic history.  If anyone lives there or has visited there once or more I am very interested in anything about Georgia and places to visit.Â
Thank you,
Tom
Hi Tom, a couple of positives about retiring to Georgia = easy visa situation, cost of living is very low here and you can actually own property. It also has a good location for a history buff such as yourself to visit many nearby countries to scratch your itch. The people here are not as friendly and welcoming as some will make them out to be but if you're self sufficient enough and good with your own company it's not so bad.
Thank you, Dave.  Yes, I know certain countries are more reserved than others.  The few Georgian I have met in person were friendly.
I want to visit Georgia on this December so I want to meet Ghanaians in Georgia on this platform
Hi,
I'm thinking about moving to Tbilisi. But I'm a bit worried about finding work. Is it hard to find a job there if you're Americans?
Thanks, Michael
I'm working here online so I don't have any personal experience but I know the unemployment rate is rather high and work is not readily available, and more so if you don't speak the language.
If dont mind me asking, what I'd your online job? I've been looking into this also to no avail yet. Any suggestions? Thanks,Michael
I don't mind. I have more than one online job, first for a scooter advertising business in Australia and second for a travel app and another travel platform that I am setting up here in Georgia. I just met an American woman yesterday running in the hills(she was running, I was walking) and she works online fact checking content. She came here as I did because of the 1 year visa free and it's cheap to live here. My apartment is quite nice and costs $350 a month.
May I know the travel app name? I am traveler and I use app a lot. I am living in Archi Towers Vake . I own the apartment.
Hi, the app is called Travezl but it's new and not even set up in Georgia yet (that's my job) and I don't think you can find it in playstore, if you do it will probably be from Nepal(I was just there working on it) or Australia where it's from. I am living in - I don't know the name of the building, don't think it has one, in Vake and I'm renting the apartment. Cheers,
Another member who works for this company says now is a good time to register because they are going to be hiring more people. Sounds/looks good:
Hello I am Selamawit from Ethiopia i want to move to Georgia with my families is it hard to find a job there? can you give me more information about Georgia?
thanks in advance!
I have been told it is difficult to find work here, especially for people who don't speak the language. Most of the people I meet work online.

All the very best,

Information that helps people live here hardly seems like advertising to me, but then I'm prejudiced when it comes to business.
Hello everyone, I am currently living in Nigeria. I am planning on relocating to Tbilisi in summer of 2020. I am looking at getting an affordable apartment for a start in Tbilisi.
Any ideas on how to plan my relocation to Georgia will be appreciated. I plan to be self employed while living in Tbilisi.
I will also need information on what Bank I should account with and the type of account that works best in Tbilisi for a dollar account.
In summary I need a general suggestions on how to prepare.
I look forward to responses from the good people of this forum.
Thank you
Josephine
Check out this site for apartments:Â
Do not use a company called GPM, they are scammers. Best to deal direct with owner - renters.
I like TBC for banking,
Thank you for your response. I will research these sites to see what they have.
Please feel free to communication any information that could be of help to me.
Thank you
Josephine
