Pensioners Visa Question

Post new topic

LBucho

I want to start by saying I have done a ton of research and even have a Colombian lawyer so I am just looking to see if anyone here has experienced this issue and how it worked for them.

If my notarized apostatized income document states that the award will only last until I am 62 will there be a problem?

I am currently in my 40's so that is a long  ways away. My lawyer keeps saying it won't matter and I do trust him but because of language barriers ( I am in school but just know a little) I feel nervous about this detail.

Thanks!

Siol

I'm  no lawyer, but since a visa is only valid for one year, and you have to re-apply every year for five years in order to obtain a five-year visa, 22 years away seems a non-issue.  I think the government of Colombia is only concerned about the here and now income to support you in the present term of your visa.

The Colombian visa requirements get changed almost every year so there is little point in planning far ahead.

To get a true pension visa you will have to show that is is at least 3 times the minimum Colombian monthly salary, which depends on the exchange rate.

Yes, like I said I do have a lawyer and have done all the research I just wanted reassurance on the wording of my document.

Thank you.. So far the information I am getting points to them not really caring as long as my income is above the threshold when I apply. Thanks for the reassurance. I am one of those who is always a little worried and super careful!!
