Hi,
I just move to Marrakech about 3 weeks ago from New York. I like the city, but miss to talk to someone in English and also looking for some company. I don't know anyone here and feel quite lonely.
Are there any other English speakers that would like to meet?
Regards,
Jana

hi Jana, I am moving to Morocco this December and will be in Marrakech to start a new life and business. I am opening a small american style healthy fast food restaurant there.
Would love to meet up. All will be foreign to me but I visited Morocco last year and absolutely loved it....hence, the move.
I'm coming from San Diego, CA.
Please send me an email to:Ìý oram@usa.comÌý and your cell number there. I assume you got one by now.
Take care,
Robert Oram

Hey Jana,
I'm in the same boat as you were: just got to Marrakech from New York about two months ago. Let me know if you've put together a solid expat community yet.
Cyril
Hello Jana,Ìý I will be in Marrakesh for most of the month of February 2012 and would love to meet you when I am there.Ìý I am expecting to feel a bit lonely too, since I will be travelling by myself.Ìý It would be nice to meet other English speakers in Marrakesh, chat about what life is like there, maybe explore the city together.
I am hoping to move to Marrakesh--or possibly Fes--if I like how it feels there.Ìý I am a little worried about how it feels for a Western woman by herself to go around in Morocco:Ìý people have told me that men on the street can be hostile or harassing to a single woman (especially a non-Moroccan woman).Ìý What has been your experience with this?
If you would like to chat by email in the meantime please let me know;Ìý my email address is techne09@gmail.com.
Regards,
Jen
Hi Jana, I am Chris. I am English and have just moved here. I would also like to meet other English speaking people to socialise and share experiences.Ìý I live in Gueliz and my email is gigi2412@hotmail.co.uk. Regarding the response from Moroccan men, I find that some do call out to me and want me to talk, but I say 'bonjour' and walk on. If they continue to harass I say 'Alez vous en' which means go away. I have not yet met up with any open hostility, but I have only been here three and a half weeks. There is still time.
Hi English speakers!
If any of you guys want to go for a bike ride send me an e-mail saif.kovach@argansports.com. I have touring bikes for road, mountain, and city. I'll give you guys a tour for free.
Jana, I am now in Marrakech and loving it. Made some new, nice friends. People are very helpful. Let's get in touch. Give me your cell number here.Ìý
06290 80 3208Ìý Ìýthis is my cell. send me a text or call. take care.
I'm from the US also.
@bikeguysaif- you are off topic and please note that free advertisement is not allowed on the forum. I would suggest you to register on our business directory. Thank you.
My sincerest apologies to all involved with this topic. It was my mistake for getting off the topic.
Hi Jana I'm an English speaker from St. Louis MO. I grew up in the US and now have been living in Marrakech for over a year now. My sister, her husband, and son have also moved to Marrakech from Louisville to help me open a business here. They are also English speakers. We have figured out nice places to hang out here in Marrakech. If you or anyone else on here would like to hang out for a bit drop me a line.
Again, sorry Christine.
Hi everybody!
I'm Alex, I've just moved here last Sunday from London and I'd love to meet somebody for a coffee or anything. I like the city so far, but it would be nice to hang around with somebody and meet new people since I don't know anybody hereÌý Ìý Ìý
Ah, and I'm looking for a job too, possibly in the hospitality.
I live in the Kasbah, ten minutes from Djemaa el Fna, the main square, in the madina.Ìý Ìý Ìý
Please get in touch, that's my mail:Ìý Ìýaleboris80@yahoo.it
And that's my number:Ìý Ìý 0624832900Ìý Ìý
P.S. sometimes my phone hasn't got any service, sorry..
Alex I'm in the US right now but I'll be back Feb. 4th. I'll get a hold of you when back to do something.
Julia, I'm also enchanted by the bike. When I get back you can ride them with me.
Do you organize trips with bike ???
what type of bikes you have?
Thanks.
Keep up the good work guys !

Hi Thierry Guillemin > this is an old topic. Note also that you should write in English in the English speaking forum. Thank you.
I will get to Marrakech on 25th November, I don't know anyone there. I am Spanish but I speak English because I am living in London. I'd like to know people to go out, have dinner, have a coffee, show me the city, etc. Anything, I would love to share with you. Or maybe we can do a hang out all. Let me know. ThanksÌý
Hello Mr , first of all I ve scrumbled onto your profil, I see that you are willing to have a splendid visit in Morroco , well I do agree woth you about drinking the wonderfull mint tea, but on this point I have to say that the best mint tea is drunkable in Chefchaouen where the so spiritual and domineering atmosphere make you feel as if you entered to an other temporary universe...
well Tangiers has its own anemeties you may call me on 0634571241
greetings

Why?
She's visiting Marrakech and you are in Tangiers, several hundred miles away.
anitamari, You've probably been and gone, but if not here's some advice for you and others.Ìý Don't meet people one-to-one, especially if they are not verifiable expats, Delete unsolicited messages from your mailbox immediately and don't even read them. There are cheats and fraudsters galore on these forums and this is their modus operandi. You have to be very careful.
Try to, as you say, have a get-together of several expats all at one time. This way you will make some genuine friends and avoid the cheats, frauds and exploitative local Romeos who are looking for two things, money and a visa. Oh and a third, but that's obvious.
