My names jemma and I’m from the Uk. I was thinking to move there in a few months but I don’t speak their language. I have worked in hospitality my whole life and was wondering if you knew what the chances of me getting a job would be. I am currently, slowly, trying to learn Portuguese but finding it a little tricky.
Hi Jemma,
In Boavista and Sal, you do not need to know how to speak Portuguese to get a job in the hospitality sector. Most of the tourists coming to these two islands are English-speaking and thus most of the big hotels are looking to hire people who can speak English.
Your chance of getting a job is excellent given your background and experience. Just keep in mind that landing a job is one thing, but you also need to know how to adapt to living in Cape Verde. You may find this >< useful.
Good luck,
Angelo

Hello I am from gambia
Am staying at boa vista and I will like to work as any tourist sector can you help me with one
I can speak both English and French
Hi Ann, There's nothing I can do to help you. To find a job, you simply have to walk around with your resumé and personally speak with all the business owners. There are no employment agencies. Just get out there, meet employers and introduce yourself. Visit the big hotels and ask about getting a job. Also, speak with some of the (English-speaking) tourist guides. They are not all independent.
Regards,
Angelo
