Hi guys, if I鈥檓 about to move to Bangkok from Aus.
What should be my first steps to setting up a bank account and with who?

Do u have Work permit?聽 If u have u can do.聽 And it depends on u what bank u want.聽 such as K bank

If have heard that if you are opening a bank account for the specific reason of buying a condo you may find them receptive. Of course you won't be transferring funds until you find one which could take years :0)

My experience starting out was, Bangkok Bank let me opened one with my WP3 document.

Siam Commercial insisted only when I had my official work permit in spite of my salary credited to them. IE - all employees in my company get their salary via an SCB account only

I would say these 2 are more English friendly

K Bank has a good online digital experience, but i hardly use that card

For tax purposes i had to open A KTB account recently to get my refund. Not my choice

You can open a saving wit debit card in Kasikorn or Bangkok bank without WP yet
