Payment methods in Turkey

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello everyone,

Once youÂ’re settled in Turkey, you will need to make some basic purchases, like groceries or pay bills. Hence, it is essential to know the payment methods available in your host country.

Which are the most common payment methods in Turkey? Why would you prefer some forms over others?

Does the amount of money or the type of paid services (groceries, bills, rent, etc.) determine the choice of payment methods?

Are there any apps at your disposal which make the payment process easier in Turkey?

Can certain foreign currencies be used to make payments?

Have your habits in terms of payment methods changed since moving to Turkey?

Thanks for sharing your experience,

Priscilla

Hello my friend
Here you can pay everything with your Master or Visa card.
everywhere you can find a pos for pay money this way is safe and easy for example : restaurants, supermarkets, Docks, airways, cafes, rent a car, rent an apartment and ...
But just for taxi's or minibusses you should pay cash Turkish lira.
If you want pay bills you have two ways first pay cash second pay with your bank accounts app on your phone.
I prefer pay with Visa or Master cards because this way is safe and you don't need carrier alot money for buying a little groceries because 100 dollars is 600 Turkish lira.
After that if you or your friends or family want will come to visit turkey you can connect with me I live in beautiful city Yalova***
Best regards

Hi.
Payment system in Turkey is safe and fast.
I prefer bank payments and mostly with my debit card.

My shopping preferences and methods changed and became much more easier. Mostly preferring the online shopping lets me to save my time and compare the rivals' prices to make the best choice in terms of costs. https links with 3D secure payment satisfy my expectations.

There were a few disappointing moments in online shopping, but anyway by time I learned not to trust each single advertsiement in the social media :) and not to make a purchase is the seller does not declare to provide an invoice. The Turkish government cares on customer rights more that any country else. So we are happy with our payment and shopping experiences here in Turkey.

Wish you happy shoppings and abandoned amount of money to pay  ;)
