Monthly costs in GZ

Post new topic

Antonomad

Hi all,
I currently live in Kunming, but planning to move to Guangzhou in August this year. Would really appreciate if someone could tell me basic monthly costs, including -monthly rent (clean, safe, not too costly studio) and how often do you pay your rent. I know that in Beijing the usual is 3 months in advance, in Kunming even 6-12 months, but it's possible to pay month-per-month as well. What is the situation in GZ? Also, what would be the food expenses? 1000 per month? 500? 2000? I like Chinese food, and can eat in cheap, side-street vendor or up-class restaurant.
not includingnightlife, as I am aware that cost can be as high as sky.
Thanks in advance.

The cheapest hotel is 120RMB/night
Cheap, furnished apartments range from 1500-2500/month
No breakfast
Lunch is about 15-30RMB individually, 50 at a nicer restaurant.
Dinner is 15-30 when eating by yourself. Expect 40-100 per person at a restaurant.
Midnight snacks from 5-20.
Subway and bus costs about 70RMB/month for me.
Cellphone, 100RMB/month
Internet, 100RMB/month.
