Cost of health insurance and living

Post new topic

Hello everyone, we are hoping to move to Belek, we will be buying a villa and don’t plan to work , please could you give us an idea of health insurance and living costs? I’ve been quoted 300 gbp per month for us both for health insurance, should we get it locally?  Any advice would be brilliant, thank you

Hi there. Just came across your post, and just wanted to say that as you probably know there are multiple levels of health insurance. If you are planning to live in Turkey you must purchase a Foreigner's insurance policy that covers emergencies and partial coverage of minor health issues. That insurance will be in the range of 110-120 GBP per YEAR per PERSON. Once you get your residence card (which might be a couple of months after you enter Turkey due to the processing), you can then apply for the Health Coverage/Insurance level that you want as a Resident and it will be much cheaper. So to answer your question, YES, buy it locally.
