Financial Requirements - RP for Retired Non-Citizens

Post new topic

Hi Everybody,

I have just checked on the EDB Guidelines site and see the Financial requirements for the Resident permit has reduced to USD 1,500 per month - USD 54,000 over 3 year period.

Regards

Stephanie Troy

Hi Jackie,

I heard this recently but did not know whether to believe it. When we moved here in 2012 it was $40,000 a year. When we applied again for a 3 year permit in 2015 it was still $40,000. It was then reduced to $30,000 before that 3 years was up but this did not apply to our permit. Whatever amount you are quoted when you apply I think applies for the full 3 years of the permit.

I am assuming this new rate will not apply to our permit until 2021 when we apply again but I am not sure. Just be careful to check before you submit your paperwork. It would be great to know for definite.

Hi,

Confirmed by phoning EDB today.

USD 1,500 P/M  = USD 18,00 P/A = Total USD 54,000 over 3 year period.

Another interesting piece of info - Should you apply for 10 year Permanent Residency after 3 years - The abovementioned criteria also apply.

Check EDB website - Guidelines Page 6 - 2.1.4
