Hi, I'm an English expat living in Thailand and I'm coming to Sri Lanka next month for both test matches. I read before that you just turn up on the day and buy tickets at the ground for about a 1000 rupees, now I'm hearing different reports that the English get stiffed for 50 dollars a ticket!! I have no qualms about paying the going rate but I hate double pricing. If anyone can elaborate on this I'd genuinely appreciate it and get you a beer if we run into each other.
Many thanks.
Yes there was a time that one could just show up and buy a ticket, maybe it still is so for the locals, honestly I don't really know. Anyway R. Premadasa stadium is a very big one but since it is situated in the center of Colombo tickets can be sold out easily and since the Galle where the other ground is situated, is a tourist area and also a much smaller town than Colombo it might could be hard to find accommodation right near by the ground. If you are going to watch both matches it's a 12 day tour in two locations so better to buy tickets in advance and also arrange some kind of accommodation before it will be unnecessarily expensive. Cheers!
Thanks for the response, I have accommodation sorted out, I just need to clarify the tickets situation
Hi Wandsworhbob,
This is the official Sri Lankan Cricket sales website. Sales are managed by an Indian company Bookmyshow.
Register your details first, then buy your tickets online.
Have a great time!
