How do you navigate your expat identity in Russia?

Post new topic

Hey guys in Russia or wanting to move there,

Fellow expat Stephanie has sent us a piece about how she navigates between her British-ish and her French-ish identity and we thought we would share it with you.

Her opinion piece is featured on our magazine:
Opinion: Does being an expat mean IÂ’ll always be the outsider?

We would love to know what you think!

Happy Thursday,
AL

Hey. A minute from the past.
Even the Marquis de Custine, who did not like much in Russia, wrote of the hotel at the postal yard: “I am writing to you from a house that is strikingly different in grace from the dull houses in the surrounding villages; it is a post station and a bar at once, and it’s almost clean here. "The house is similar to the home of some prosperous landowner, similar stations, although less well-groomed than in Pomerania, are built along the entire road."http://www.confiduss.com/en/jurisdictions/the-russian-federation/infrastructure/
