How to entertain kids in Belgium during lockdown?

Post new topic

Hello everyone,

As countries are being locked down one after another, Belgium is no exception and as a parent, the situation is oftenly new: entertaining children and working remotely.

How do you explain the situation in Belgium or globally to them?

How do you manage to work remotely with your children around?

How do you make them learn new things (school related or not)? Any tips to share?

Hoping you are all safe and sound.

The problem is different depending on where people live.

For those who live in the city, trapped between the four walls of their apartment, it must be hell. Sad to say, but I understand those who freak out and don't stay locked up in their apartments. I honestly don't see how they can do it. Apart from spending their time reading / playing on board games if they are / being stuck in front of the TV or computer screen / ...

For my part, my family lives in the countryside in a house with a large garden near a river and a forest. In addition to the countryside, there are always a few things to do in the house or outside.

I live in an apartment but fortunate enough to have a big balcony.

My kids are still able to enjoy the sun without going out. Of course, they can't do activities like in an open space  but good enough.

To keep them calm while I have to work, I find this website quite interesting for them to get started with programming

I limit their time on screen to 3 hours at most during this war time against COVID-19.
