Legalities of living in Ukraine with Russian girlfriend?

Post new topic

Rick777

Hello. I'm an American with a Russian girlfriend. Due to government complications I prefer to live elsewhere. I'm thinking of nation in eastern Europe, Ukraine being one of them. Ukraine is the focus here. Based on your personal experience and knowledge, what would be the best/easiest way to live in Ukraine with her?
I don't need or want to work. I'm financially secure. I can support both of us and her child, but we both would like her to work at her own small business - a shop or similar. Any input will be appreciated....I think ; )

Hello Rick,
I saw your post and thought I would give a shout from here in Italy right now. I am from Cleveland, Ohio. I still have family dispersed here which is why I chose to try and move here, but the bureaucracy is horrible here, too.

I too, seek to move to Kyiv once I meet the young lady I am corresponding with. I am intrigued by the idea you are considering this move. I thought I would ask what kind of business would you like to start? Is she a hairstylist like me?  I know at this moment our dollar is still hovering a 26.00 UAH to the American dollar. For now at least. In any case, I want to get over there and may need to create my own employment after marrying.

Being in this holding pattern isn't helping and still leaving uncertainty for employment anywhere. One lady I know in Kyiv is saying the statistics are not correct that are being publicized. However, we need to pray and hope this will subside so we can still enjoy our lives.

Let me know your thoughts.

Sincerely,

Franco in Empoli

If your girlfirend would like to have business in Ukraine - the best would be to open legal entity and based on it obtain Work Permit and Temporary Residence Permit for her. Based on her documents, you can obtain Temporary Residence Permit. This documents would allow you to live in Ukraine and travel in and out.***
