Mandatory Quarantine and Dog Walks

Post new topic

fmmaciel

Hi everyone!

After a long wait, I finally obtained my Visa D, and planning to move to Brussels from Brazil by the end of October.

I understand that, due to our place of origin, a 2-week quarantine is mandatory, and we should carry it out on a temporary accommodation (Airbnb) before looking for a more permanent rental.

However, we are taking our dog with us and we have not been able to find any information on whether we're able to take the dog outside for its necessities while quarantining.

Does anybody have any information on this?

Thank you very much.

Well................

Animals well being is protected by laws. Meaning that you should still have the right to walk him/her if there's nobody else to do it. But with the psycho-politics/polices, we never know...

Just do it as fast as possible with your mask on, next to your house, then go back inside and you shouldn't have any trouble...
(Don't bring your smartphone with you.... or any connected watch, whatever...)

PS: I'm just telling you this because I'm concerned of the well being of the dog and its need.
Being in a quarantine is a civil act that you should respect in a life in society point of view.
My 2 cents...

If I remember well, your significant other is from UK, so she could walk the dog ;)

Thank you a lot Alex, as always.

I completely agree with you on the merits of the quarantine. We are searching for airbnb with some sort of garden area and/or dog walkers services for that period, hoping we can make that fit into our budget. But your idea may be our last resort.

Even though my significant other is British, she has been living in Brazil with me, so I guess she will be put under the same restraints, unfortunately...
