Moving to Iceland

Post new topic

Hey fellows,

I'll try to sum it up.

I am currently planning to move to Iceland and study there. It's reckless since I have got no savings, information, or whatsoever.

I have the following questions:

1. How could I find a (part-time) job as a student (ideally priorly to moving to Iceland)?

2. What are the rental costs and how do I find a landlord, specialized in student flats (also, how do I find cheap student flats, where the bills are included in the rent, and are there many frauds I have to look out for)?

3. How much do I have to spend on health insurance in general in Iceland?

4. How is the food quality out there, which food products are mostly imported, and are these to be seen as of good quality?

5. Is it obligatory to speak fluently Icelandic in order to get the best out of my university studies (I know a few words as well as expressions, but I am ready to improve and am a fast learner)?

I'd be happy if you could help me out! I really want this dream of mine to come true. Thanks in advance!

Well, seems like no one is using this website, that's sad and I wonder why.
