Newbie on the Croatia forum? Don't know how to start?

This thread is for you ;)

We invite you to introduce yourself on this topic, to share with us your expat story if you are already living in the country,

It will enable us to help you better but above all to wish you a warm welcome.

Hello,
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Frank, I am from Wichita Falls, Texas. I am currently living in Germany. My wife is from Osijek, but she hasn't lived there since 2006. We are in our late fifties and we are planning on an early retirement, possibly within a year. We were thinking of moving to Istria, somewhere between Porec and Pula. We want to buy a house or buy a parcel of land and build one of these prefabricated houses. I have a Master's Degree in History, but my professional background and lower level education are mostly in business administration and business management. My wife has American Doctorate in Educational Leadership (concentration in Higher Education) and American Master's Degree in Management. She also has Croatian Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. We are both interested in teaching in our respective lanes (History, Business, Leadership, Higher Education). My knowledge of Croatian is limited, so I am looking for a job where I can use English. I am looking forward to hearing form all of you.

Best wishes,

Frank

Hey! I am Veronika, living in czech republic. I was  on yacht with [link moderated] for the first time and I literally fell in love. Do you have any experience with living on a yacht? I started to follow some blogs and YT channels to know more, but individual experience with living on yacht in Croatia will be welcomed! <3
