Hi all,

Newbie on the Guadeloupe forum? Don't know how to start?

This thread is for you ;)

We invite you to introduce yourself on this topic, to share with us your expat story if you are already living in the country,
or to tell us more on your expat projects in Guadeloupe if you are planning to move there.

It will enable us to help you better but above all to wish you a warm welcome.

Welcome on board!

Hi!
Val & Rob here.....  a retired couple.  One  X teacher.  One X banker.  We spend our winters in St Francois to escape the cold in Canada.
We enjoy the beach & golfing & hiking.  We love the island & enjoy practicing our limited French :)
Still, it would be fun to meet other English speaking people ....

Diksha

Hello Val & Rob,

Welcome to ½ûÂþÌìÌà :)

We are glad to hear that both of you seem to be making the most of your time spent in Guadeloupe, and as you should. :)

You could maybe find other persons who speak English through our Guadeloupe expat network, and reach out to them.

Furthermore, if you happen to need insight from fellow English speakers, you can start a new thread on the Guadeloupe forum so that they may guide you.  :)

All the best,

Diksha

Hi there,
my name is Esther, I am from Germany and interested in possibly moving to Guadeloupe with my children, aged 12 and 14- although I have never been there. But we will visit this coming winter, if Corona doesn't get in the way of our plans and I have the very strong feeling I will love Guadeloupe.
As my kids will still be in school for several years, I am wondering about  schools that are teaching in English (my children are bilingual German/English).
Anyway, I am looking forward to exploring this forum and hope to find interesting information.
:)  Esther

@ Schijf and Vegan_Esther,

Can you please post in english only on this english speaking forum?

Thanks,

Priscilla

J’ai pensé c’est Francais parce-que Guadeloupe est un département de france !

Don’t you speak German, did’nt you learn other languages, we in the Netherlands learned English, German an French at school and Yo hablo un poco espagnol!!

Regards, GrüBe, Salut, Adios.

I had many conversations in French with people from Guadeloupe and I did not hear any comments about not speaking English, is it because it was in German ??
