When I exit Malaysia, do they check the transactions in my bank account? Does the government or my employer have access to my bank account?

Do you mean at Immigration on the way out? I dont know if they have that capability but I do know the computers will stack up unpaid taxes and police actions. I did know of one Malaysian who was blocked from leaving because he had unpaid tax problems. I doubt they have any access to a persons bank account from their screens, they are looking for legal problems that have become a matter of record. Im certain your employer has no access to banks. At Immigration, they are first concerned if a person has overstayed a visa, thats their primary function, they are not an all-encompassing authority for everything.  What is your situation exactly?

Thanks for the response. I've once got amount in RM from my friend who needed Indian currency, I sent him in INR. For five to six times. Just worried if they would ask me about all those if they check bank transactions. Nothing much.

Nothing wrong with that and Immigration wouldnt be interested. If you did have any problem about banking it would come from the bank, like trying to transfer large amounts of money which might need approval from Bank Negara. The outgoing authority limit a bank has is RM40,000 in one transaction but even below that they will still ask Bank Negara for permission. Likewise, if you have incoming transfers of RM100,000 or something, it will likely be held until they ask you questions about how you earned it and why it was sent to your account. The govt is crazy to catch money launderers. When you are dealing with RM500, 1000, 4000, nobody cares about anything.

I should add that when coming or going, I think the cash limit is RM10,000 without having to declare it. I have brought in and left with more through these airports and wasnt bothered but dont take my experience as the law.
