I heard you had to have a Negative Covid Test when arriving in the US.
The test taken in Thailand 72 hours prior..

I'm sure there are some facts on the Web...

I guess it depends on your destination?
You don't state where you want to return to.
For example a UK citizen wanting to depart Thailand to enter France has to abide by French  Covid-19 travel conditions.
Go onto the Covid-19 travel website of your destination country to find out what you have to do before departing Thailand.

I think  it depends on your destination.

I have just made reservations for my daughter to fly to the US next month.
It is my interpretation of all the refs:
1.  Need negative Covid-19 test within 3 days of departure from BKK with documentation.  This is presented to departing airline ticket counter.
This test should still be valid when you get to the US (taken within 3 days).
2.  In transit/layover city may or may not require another test.....Narita does NOT
3.  When you get to the US.... you may have to quarantine......LAX requires 7 days.
I believe every final destination airport (depending on State) has their own requirements.

You can get the appropriate information WHEN you book your ticket (prior to paying/checking out) in which it tells you of airline/ destination requirements.    You can do all of this BEFORE committing to ticket purchase.

P.S.  still advise purchasing “ticket/Covid insurance “.   Most of the airlines offer FREE flight change (NOT cancellation).
