France and US Tax Law for succession/inheritance

Hello everyone!

I just joined so I am not sure if I am using the correct platform to ask this question. I live in the US and am a dual French/American citizen. I have questions regarding Taxes when it comes to inheritance. I kn ow there is a US/French treaty but it is hard to heifer the document. I have many questions regarding this complicated issue. do you know any US?FREnch tax law for succession聽 issues?m Thank you.

Hi,

I鈥檓 in the same situation...聽 I think part of the complexities is where the heirs are (US or abroad).聽 I鈥檝e been trying to get more info but I鈥檓 still confused.聽 I鈥檓 trying to set up a meeting with a French/US expat specialized firm.
In the meantime, they do have materials online for one of their webinars on estate planning.聽 I included the link in a previous post but I can鈥檛 find it again.聽 I think it was posted on the French forum.

Oh, and to my knowledge the tax treat is about income tax.聽 Nothing to do with estate tax but someone may have better/ more info.
