Business license for earning online?

Post new topic

Dear all,

I am an expatriate here not a Saudi citizen. Can someone let me know if I need to have a license to be able to work from home and earn some extra cash by doing small tasks online for people like on Freelancer or through affiliate marketing?

It's a clear violation of labor law,  you can't undertake multiple works other than your actual job mentioned in iqama/work permit or work independently. Even home tutoring is illegal. This country has strict rules if someone reports it, you will be fined,  if you are a dependent your sponsor could be in trouble.

As an expatriate you cannot have license unless you are on a business Visa and the activities have to be registered legally. Some people here do it to earn quick bucks as  side income but it's recognized as illegal in the eyes of law.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply to my question. That sounds like trouble - guess I should steer clear of it. Thanks again!

if you  want to any affiliate marketing with Souq (Amazon), Jarir or Fiverr etc. register on their site,  if registered , than you can start working.

Hello! I think the answer is no. You can't make that extra cash by undertaking multiple works due to the strict laws. It will bring you a lot of trouble. It's not worth it. Besides that, the license is required if you own a business to pay taxes and be registered legally. When I started my first business, I first did to get my license. It was pretty hard since I was new in this domain, and I didn't know much. I had a friend who gave me the platform [link moderated] to inform myself before getting it. I am thankful to him.

Thank you for your reply. Apologies; just have not been on this website much, so I didn't see it sooner. Appreciate your help.
