Just keep an eye on your wallet.
My friends father from the US had many available women contact him when he first arrived in Budapest.
Of course they all saw $ signs.
Steak dinners later, he found out they just wanted to help him spend his money.
I know you will like Budapest but just keep your head focused and don't let yourself be lead astray.
My son was taken advantage of years ago here and he had his Hungarian father to guide him.
Take things slowly and don't overshare with strangers.
We knew an American retired man who happened to live in our building in the 5th years ago.
He got married really fast when he arrived to a HU women who he later told us he had to divorce because,"She never drank water" whatever that meant, sounds like she was a boozer?
He in 2 years in Hungary never went any further then a few square blocks away from his flat after that experience.
My husband took him a few places becuase he felt bad for him.
The guy moved away soon after.
Should be a bit angry with the guy because our sn mean this horrible Hungarian wife through this man.
Her mother was friends of his massage therapist.
Too be fair, even some of our freinds children that were my boys age used him. They would invite him to clubs with their friends and expect him to cover the drinks.
Just be careful and don't be in a hurry.
Let's just say my son came to Hungary when it was ,"cheap" 20 some years ago. He had over $30,000 available. Came home within a year and borrowed $50. at the airport from his dad... Busted.
Had to sleep in our living room and got himself 2 full times jobs to recover.

I did want to say that,  but I didnt want to seem to put them all in the same "boat".
