Breaking News: Covid19 Vaccination Card Needed to Enter Public Places

As I have been following this thread for the past week, it seems that persons on both sides of the vac or no vac spectrum are giving opinions. I'm unsure if any of us here are in the lab studying the virus or the vaccine. We are all dissecting information given to us and forming our own opinions. I do believe there is nothing wrong with healthy discussions as long as it does not turn into personal attacks or vulgarity. I don't believe anyone's opinion is more valid than another's
So...let's try to keep this topic on track! The DR has put this new guideline in place. It serves no purpose for those of us on this forum to discuss the merits of the guideline or whether people should or should not be vaccinated. That ship has sailed and we can't change it! We now need to respect the right of the DR government to put these restrictions in place and learn to live with it. If you don't think they have the right to impose these restrictions, then work towards Dominican citizenship so you can vote, deal with it, or go home!
Can we turn our focus back to the guideline, how it's being implemented, where it's being enforced, questions about the rules, etc.?
If you want to discuss something else, start a new thread!
Very disappointed that some members are not listening or simply don't understand that this site is intended for information purposes only, not for opinions. I have found this site very helpful during my process of moving to the DR, but getting very frustrated about the types of comments being made. This is not Facebook, please go air your opinions there. Thank you.

Exactly the point I was getting across.
Today I have heard a variety of reports regarding the new rules.
A friend who had only his electronic copy of his vaccine card was not allowed entry to a restaurant.
On the north coast friends were not even asked if they had vaccine cards.
I was asked at a grocery store in Santo Domingo.
My employee had to show his card to enter an office supply store.
My lawyer says the card requirements was upheld in the courts.
The court cases seeking withdrawal of the Health Resolution have been postponed until 26th October.
Complaints because Dominican institutions do not accept a foreign vaccination card
People who have been vaccinated in another country have had difficulty in the Dominican Republic to enter public places, because the foreign vaccination document as such has been rejected.
After the Ministry of Public Health declared mandatory the presentation of the vaccination card in the country, people who come from another nation with their doses applied were not taken into account.
Such is the case of Wilkins Heredia , who stated through his Twitter account that he took a digital certificate with him to a public space, which, according to him, meets all security requirements and was not accepted.
He called the vaccination card delivered in the country a "piece of cardboard" and asked Public Health to clarify the situation with the corresponding agencies.
"A digital certificate that meets all the security requirements, unlike the piece of cardboard that they issue here, is not wanted by public and private institutions @SaludPublicaRD that clarifies that care must simply present proof of the vaccine," Heredia wrote.
Gastroenterologist Joel Rivera also showed discomfort after his inoculation certificate was rejected at Banreservas. He said the bank marked it as "invalid."
According to Rivera, he asked them to scan the QR code to validate the information and supposedly representatives of the bank told him that he did not have the device.
"They did not let me enter the Reservations because this card is not" valid "hahahahaha, I tell them to scan the QR code and they tell me they do not have the" device "I give up hahaha", posted the doctor.
What does the Minister of Public Health say?
Daniel Rivera told Diario Libre that not all public places and private institutions have the facility to have a tool to verify if the QR code is valid.
He adds that if the different institutions do not know the foreign document presented, for security reasons, they will not accept it.
According to the Health Minister, many cases of inoculation card forgery have been seen. He acknowledged that due to the new sanctions announced, it has been lowered (ha bajado).
Call the people who have this problem to attend the nearest regional health department to confirm the validation and make the card change.
Not a great answer from the Minister suggesting those with such cards go to a local office and get a local card.
A universal format of vaccination card worldwide is needed going forward as more and more countries adopt such controls.
Legal challenge to Health Law resolution postponed again to November 2nd due to legal arguments.
IMO and since I am not a lawyer and my name is not Lennox: I know of NO country in the world that has mandated the COVID vaccine country wide. Why? Because it is unconstitutional in every country that I know of and therefore against the law of the country. This being the case, you cannot force a law within a public or private company (grocery stores, banks etc. within the same country) that is different than the law of the country.Â
Wow...
Well until actual lawyers and judges hash this out lets not any of us pretend to know the law her.
I just returned from Punta Cana area and restaurants were not enforcing but supermarket was. I was surprised the doctor/testing lab did not enforce either.
Y'day in Sosua, neither Playero or Super Pola needed a card but the German butcher did!
Good Morning

French expat in Cabarete in trouble now.
Pharmacy owner accused of selling vaccination cards in Cabarete arrested
The National Police reported the arrest of Corinne Martine Revel, 61, the owner of a pharmacy in Cabarete for allegedly selling false vaccination cards.
According to the report of the North Regional Police Directorate, the French woman was arrested after a raid at the Cereia Pharmacy in the company of representatives of the Public Ministry and the Provincial Directorate of Public Health.
The inspection was carried out after the health authorities received complaints that immunization certificates were being sold at the aforementioned pharmacy.
Revel had six vaccination cards, two CPUs and a DVR, the Frenchwoman will be brought to justice in the next few hours.
Because the card does not fit in any wallets unless you have a wallet made for 500 euro notes, can I use a front and back picture from my phone???
Yes. Digital copies are accepted but have your passport or cedula copy too.
Some copying companies are reducing the card size and laminating too.
60 pesos... my vax card was reduced to wallet size and laminated
Yes this is part of a crackdown going on. Let's hope all those who paid for fraudulent cards are also arrested!
Reminder we are guests in this country. Unless you have a Dominican passport you are a guest, period. Breaking the law is not recommended.
Good days all
We are Canadian we have the 2 vaccination for covid on our cell and a hard paper copy will this be fine at the airport at Las terrenas??we planning coming on January and February
Yes, it will be fine.....
nothing needed to enter the country....
certain businesses might(might) ask for it
While we have our vaccine cards on our phones and are prepared to show them, we have not been asked once in LT to show them. We haven't been out a lot, but I'd say there have been at least a half dozen times when we should have been required to show them and haven't been asked.
My experience (not LT)
banks look for it... Carol Rx in STI asked me
my local places here in Cabrera.... nope
Who cares?
I am prepared
Covid certificate
Public Health will issue a special certificate to those vaccinated who need to travel to the United States.
The Minister of Public Health, Daniel Rivera, will announce this Wednesday details about the new special or digital certificate that the country will have for those who wish to travel to countries such as the United States, which will serve as proof that they are vaccinated against the COVID-19.
The measure that was evaluated for months by the authorities will be announced when the new United States restrictions that will force travelers to be immunized are about to take effect on November 8.
The White House had announced that all travelers must present their vaccination certificate to enter the United States and a negative covid test made three days before boarding.
The vaccines accepted for entry are those recognized by the FDA, the US regulator and the World Health Organization (WHO): Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Covishield, Sinopharm and Sinovac.
Unvaccinated foreigners will be barred from entering the country, although the White House said there will be some exceptions, which will include young children. While Americans who are not immunized and traveling from abroad must test negative for covid one day before returning to the United States and show documentation that they bought a test to be carried out after their arrival.
QR Code vaccination certification is here.
Vacúnate RD presents a new digital vaccination certificate
The National Vaccination Plan presented a new tool through which the vaccination status can be immediately and safely demonstrated.
It is a certification which has a QR code, which, when scanned, allows the registered data on the vaccination scheme to be viewed. The document can be obtained by completing a form on the web page vaccinate.gob.do.
According to the authorities, the new document does not replace the vaccination card, and in a first stage it will only be available to people over 18 years of age.
Regarding the registration process, they explained that, after completing the form, citizens will receive by email a unique number to validate their personal data and later, obtain via the web the proof of their vaccination status in this new version.
This initiative gives continuity to the actions established in the National Vaccination Plan launched on February 15 of this year 2021.
The authorities specified that the certificate will be available to all residents who have been inoculated with at least two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
This digital tool will remain in constant evolution in accordance with international guidelines and standards.

The Minister of Health recognizes there is neglect in requesting a vaccination card and asks for more help from businessmen
He warns from the first of December new controls will come and that the card with a single dose will not be accepted
The Minister of Public Health acknowledged yesterday that some places have been "lowering their guard" in compliance with the resolution that requires the Covid-19 vaccination card to enter collective establishments, as ListÃn Diario points out in a report. published today.
Dr. Daniel Rivera said that early in the morning he made a tour of some places to see how they work and that he sent the newspaper's review to the main businessmen of the country, from whom he requested more help to achieve compliance with the measure that seeks to population is vaccinated to stop the impact of the Covid-19 virus.
The Minister of Health recalled that so far those who had only one dose had been given an opportunity, but that as of December 1, the two doses will begin to be required to enter the collective places and new controls will be added, " which is painful, because the cases of seriousness and death continue to be those of the unvaccinated, but they believe that it is a game â€.
He added that to complete 70% of the vaccinated population with two doses, it is necessary to apply some 700 thousand doses in the country, so he hopes that before December 1 it will be achieved. He said that the electronic card will also facilitate and speed up the process of applying the measure.
Call
“We make a call to the business community, because Public Health depends a lot on it, so we ask you to help us, because there are companies that must take up their guard again, so that we can reach the goal of 70% of those vaccinated with second dose".
However, he pointed out that there are places, such as banking institutions, that are very firm attached to the fulfillment of said resolution, whom he congratulated.
“I sent it immediately to Dargán, Marranzini, Brache (Dominican business leaders) because they are the ones who have to help us, I now went to three places and they were demanding it, but I agree with the newspaper, that there are places that they are being neglected in the demand â€, said the Minister of Public Health, interviewed by telephone.
ListÃn Diario published the details of a tour made by different establishments where it found that only four out of 10 places visited abided by the regulations to the letter imposed by the Ministry of Public Health.
The review that indicates that almost 20 days into the validity of resolution 00048, which provides that the vaccination certificate is an essential requirement to enter shopping centers, stores, restaurants, gyms and others, some establishments have already forgotten the measure or seem to pay attention to it. ignored.
I just download a copy of my double vaccination they called it in Canada: Enhanced vaccine certificate,  i send it as an email to myself is this enough?
and what is the best fee to do a PCR test in las Terrenas? how much is the fee do i need to make a reservation to do the test? i need it 72 hours before getting back to Canada ?
my understanding when getting in DR no questions asked at the airport for vaccination is it correct?
trying to go to LT on January 2022
do you i have do print it out ?
thks a lot
It's best to have a hard copy of your vaccine card as well as photos on your phone. Also be sure you have ID with you in case you are asked for it.
In Las Terrenas, you can get a PCR test at Sireny or the International Clinic. You don't need an appointment with either lab. I'm not sure of the cost for PCR, since we've only needed antigen tests for travel to the US.
Hi all
Any one pls know how much is the cost for a PCR test in Las Terrenas?
to my understanding Entering Dominican we don't need any proof of Vaccination is it true?
we are coming from Canada
Thank you
I am Canadian and I travel back and forth regularly these days. You need to show your proof of vaccination receipts (from your province) to get on the airplane. I travel Air Canada or Westjet. You do need to complete an online form when you enter and exit Dominican Republic, for customs. Its available in English. Do it before you go to the airport and just show the barcode.
