The driving force of your expatriation in France

Hello everybody,

Moving abroad, to a destination such as France, is often the result of careful consideration. It is a major life decision and one that should not be taken lightly as the implications are so diverse. We would like to know what motivated you to choose France as your expatriation destination.

What was the main factor that led you to choose France as your new home?

What were the other criteria that made France your preferred destination?

Are you satisfied with your choice? Please, tell us why.

Did you have any other good surprises when you arrived or any disappointments?

Have your priorities changed in the current period? If so, did this play a role in your choice of destination or in the reconsideration of your whole expatriation project?

Thank you for your contribution!

Hello Diksha,

I am French and I would like to say that before coming to live in France, start by coming there on vacation.
Now everyone says "Paris" but living in Paris is not an easy destination because of high rent prices.
The minimum wage is 1600€ gross or 1250€ net which does not allow accommodation, food, clothing and travel.
In France there is a rule, your salary must be at least 3 times the price of the rent which will make a maximum of 400€, knowing that in the Parisian suburbs it is necessary to count 800€ (Paris being unaffordable)
I advise you to come 15-20 days in location, France has very beautiful regions much cheaper than the capital.
Prepare your Roadtrip before coming, prefer the AirBNB which will cost you much less, in addition people can show you around the region.
Be careful of one thing, many do not speak English, so have a minimum of French vocabulary to make yourself understood.
Plan a good budget and avoid having a lot of cash on you, prefer Visa or MasterCard credit cards because American Express are often not accepted.

If you have any questions do not hesitate because here I have only given you the main lines.

Amour,
It certainly is not for lower taxes and more freedom, or a saner political system.
