EU blue card or single permit

Post new topic

Dear All,

I already hold single permit since 2017. Since then I have spent 4 years as seconded employee and 1 year on local contract (paying social security).
I am changing employer this year and have option to apply either EU blue card OR single permit.
I want to know if EU blue card helps to get Permanent residency sooner ? Is there any other benefit or disadvantage of blue card in Belgium after you spent sometime on single permit ?
My aim is to get permanent residency (D) type as soon as possible.
Note:  I have already read about EU blue card on europa site () and it has benefit for moving to other countries but not clear about the benefit within Belgium .

thanks as always for your suggestions.
