Hi there!

We plan to move to KL this year for my work and looking at international schools with Cambridge and IB curriculum. Have looked at few schools but unable to narrow it down due to mixed reviews.

Hoping to live in Ampang, Bangsar, Damansara, Mont Kiara. The usual susxpects that pops up as safe and best places for expats. Looking for advice on narrowing down on few schools.

Thanks in advance..

It depends on place you choose to reside. Int'l schools are many in KL. I stay in PJ/Damansara region and did a lot of surveys on Int'l school.

Some of the notable names are are follows:

British International
St Joseph's
The Methodologist
Sri KDU International
Sri Bestari International
Sri Emas International

Etc.....
Nemodot
Mont Kiara International School

lSKL

Are the two best IB schools in Malaysia.

@anujsgrrits thank you for the details. We also hope to live in PJ/Mont Kiara/Damansara or lil away at Ampang. Mainly due to good schools in these areas.

Will check St Josephs - tho the fee was lil too high.
GEMS Interntional will come under Sri KDU and as per your feedback Sri KDU is good, so this could be a good choice.

Taylors at KL seemed good but so many neg reviews. Any idea on Puchong Taylor?

We are expats and moved here in 2017. We got our kits admitted to Eaton International in Kajang and it’s a good school run but foreign faculty. Their fees are lower than the mont Kiara area and the teachers are good. We live just opposite the school is one of the most safest communities and we just love it.

Traffic is Malaysia is crazy at peak hours and it really depends on where you work and what your priorities are. I’m self employed and our office is in Mont Kiara so it takes me roughly 45 minutes in the morning and an hour if I leave by 5pm to get back.

But as the community is green and has all one needs from shoppings to entertainment so we don’t miss much living in town.

Let me know if we can help you with any more info to help you plan.

Hi all,

I have a similar request about any feedback from teachers or parents at International schools in Negeri Sembilan or southern Selangor. I’m moving to Seremban at the end of June and I’m looking for quality schools for my 11 and 13 year old.

Thanks in advance.

@Alex627 Thank for the details. My office will be at KL Sentral but since it will be mostly work from remote travel should not be an issue. Will check Eaton, didnt check it earlier mainly due to distance.

Is there any particular reason for you to choose Eaton?

If I may ask, how is the housing near the school? Any recommendations?
Alex627
@charlieslÌý we chose Eaton as it was an international school with foreign faculty and the first school that gave us admission without a waiting list.

Just opposite the school within the same community is a fantastic housing called Jade Hills, we rented a 5 bed 3500 sf home for around US 900 monthly. The security is great so no one can surprise us driving into the community. The night security is armed and with sniffing dogs so while I travel often I know my family is safe. Also we get everything, food groceries entertainment within Jade Hills. So we don’t need to drive out it’s all within a 2Km distance. Moreover it’s green and the club house has everything you’d want. Restaurant, pool, gym, swimming with classes, sports etc.

It may be a drive for me at times to get to my HQ in Mont Kiara but it’s worth it, I do have a office within Jade Hills too so that makes is easier for me not to get to the main office daily.
