Welcome to the forums.  I don't have an answer for you but will suggest you also post in the USA forum.

If you want to work for a US company, you need to search for a job while in the US.

This article from Clark Howard has many vetted options for remote work. There are also other articles linked from this one with even more options.

As others mentioned, get your job lined up in the USA before you leave for the DR.  If they allow you to work remotely, it should not matter to them where you are located unless remaining in the US is required.

@alejandragmz2014 did you have luck finding a job in the DR as a nurse? I'm also an RN and plan to live there while my kids attend an international school and I would like to work while I'm there.

Hi there, I work for a surgeon here and you cannot work as a nurse here legally without converting your license to a dominican one. With that being said, in DR there are no tiers of nursing like there is in the US.

There are certified nurses which do a training program (equivelent to medical assistant), there are licensed nurses that do a degree program (equivalent to BSN) then there are doctors (MD). That is it.

With that being said, there are other things you can do online/remotely to gain income. I just would not count on working in person at a medical establishment here as healthcare providers cannot have someone without legal status on their clinical team and the average salary of a degreed nurse here is 25,000 pesos and that is on the high side.

@Ykr716  can you explain more.  If you can,  email me *** I’m beginning school in August to become a RN (Registered Nurse) which takes about 2 years here in The United States in Illinois.  Will this not work for me if I was to move to Santo Domingo in two years after my completion?  I’m in the process of obtaining my Residency through marriage of my wife.  But are you saying that I would need to take another 2  year class all over again once I arrive in Dominican Republic?

You will be unable to work as a legal RN in Dominican Republic without legal status here. You can find a lot of remote jobs online via indeed or other job forums. I can't see your email address on this forum.

Once you receive residency, you will be able to work with your cedula. HOWEVER - you'd have to get your RN title converted to be able to practice here.

Where did you ever get that idea?  The DR is a sovereign nation.

A few mentioned that I need a celuda. I am a dual citizen of the DR through my parent and I do have family in the DR but none work in anything I am able to do. I also did buy a house there but it's findings a job the issue and RN do not make any money there. I was looking for something else that I can do with my master in informatic but I guess I will wait until retirement to live there or until my job allows it.

As reality pointed out to you,  this is the place to retire and not come for a good paying job, even if you are a Dominican currently living and working at a good job outside the DR, it is best to wait until you can comfortably retire here instead of coming here and working for a pittance.
